Carole talked us on Monday about her travels through the national parks of the USA and how the colours of the rocks has inspired her to create her wonderful embroideries.
Her talk was accompanied by slides and she took us on leisurely tour of her trip through the Grand Canyon and beyond.
She has captured the texture and colour of the landscape beautifully in this weaved example.
She photographed many images of paintings that had been created by the indigenous people who travelled through the region many years ago and has used these drawing to create embroideries in felt, bead and stitch.
We all had a very enjoyable time and would like to thank Carole very much for giving us such an inspirational talk.
