Annual General Meeting (October 2014)

Finished bags on display made at our September Workshop
We had a very good attendance at our AGM, including Anne Walden-Mills, the South East/West Regional Chairman and a trustee of the Embroiderers' Guild. An annual report was given by our chairman, Eleanor, and Gill, our treasurer, gave us a report on the accounts. All the committee members were happy to serve another year and two new committee members were also appointed.

After the AGM, Jo Dawes, the Second in Technology teacher from John Hanson Community School, showed us the work her students had produced throughout the year. She teaches pupils from Year 7 to Year 11 and explained how new topics in stitch, art and design are introduced, as they progress through to GCSE.

Starting with basic skills it was obvious from their work how individual pupils were able to develop and produce some outstanding work.

We are  all very grateful to Jo for bringing in such a variety of wonderful pieces.

After Jo's talk, we all enjoyed some delicious cakes provided by the committee!
