Capability Brown Exhibition at Hillier Gardens

Andover EG is being joined by Winchester EG, Salisbury EG and Solent EG to create the exhibition of work, with inspiration coming from Capability Brown's genius and Hillier Gardens. It is an opportunity to see a display of unique and specially created work based around the typically English scene of landscapes and stately gardens.

Below are two examples of work created by Andover EG that will be on display at the exhibition.

Autumn Pond - Anne Dowsett
(Inspired by the colour and movement of koi carp. This piece is worked on calico, faux silk and organza, with feathers and leaves formed from painted distressed lutradur. A mixture of hand and machine embroidery was used.)
Lake View - Helen Elgar
(Photo printed on fabric and machine embroidered. The dragonfly is machine embroidered in silver thread onto organza, cut out using a soldering iron and then stitched.)
