Capability Brown Exhibition at Hillier Gardens, Romsey

Andover EG is being joined by Winchester EG, Salisbury EG and Solent EG to create the exhibition of work, with inspiration coming from Capability Brown's genius and Hillier Gardens. It is an opportunity to see a display of unique and specially created work based around the typically English scene of landscapes and stately gardens.

Below are two examples of work created by Andover EG that will be on display at the exhibition.

Landscape - Margaret Beal
(The design was machine embroidered onto a heavy cotton fabric which I had first space dyed. The colours were then emphasised with water colour paints.)
Tibetan Cherry - Jenny Nelson
(The background is a colour photo, copied onto cotton coated paper, using a photo copier. All stitching is by hand, mainly using a single embroidery thread. The owl was a gift from a friend.)

Blenheim - Anne Hellyer
(Hand painted fabric and printed organza, embellished with hand and free machine embroidery.)
