As some of our members had only just returned from their trip to West Bengal, our February meeting was slightly quieter than usual!
Following the unexpected passing of Cindy Rose, who was one of our founding members, we have decided to embark on a group project to commemorate Cindy's contribution to the guild and her commitment to our branch.
Anne, our co-chairman, gave us each a square of fabric and ideas on how to create a rose design, that will be stitched together to form a wall hanging.
Some of us started at once to make tracings and begin stitching. Others were happy to enjoy each other's company, knowing that they would be completing their rose at home, using machine embroidery. The evening passed very quickly and I'm sure we will produce a beautiful wall hanging to display at future meeting to remind us of Cindy.
