Our meeting this month was an enjoyable time to catch up with friends who managed to brave the cold weather and meet up at Priory Hall.
We are putting on an exhibition at Andover Museum of the Iron Age from the end of August to October and the meeting gave us the opportunity to discuss ideas.
Sarah Davis, one of our members, suggested we work on a group project to commemorate women's suffrage. She gave us a very interesting talk on Votes for Women, going over the history of the suffragette movement, which was very inspiring and reminded us of how courageous these women were. It left us with lots of ideas to work on. As well as this project, the exhibition will include samples of our other embroidery and textile art.
A big thank you to Sarah for all her research and enthusiasm to spur us on.
